What each HeyGen tier actually adds
Every plan works the same way: write a script, pick an avatar, get a talking video. The tiers differ in video length, resolution and how much generation you can afford.
- Free gives you videos up to a minute long, 500+ stock avatars, one custom video avatar and 30+ languages, shared through a 720p link.
- Creator stretches videos to 30 minutes with 1080p export, removes the watermark, allows unlimited photo avatars and up to 40 voice clones, and covers 175+ languages and dialects.
- Pro adds 4K export, editing and proofreading of translated scripts, access to all advanced AI models and up to 70 voice clones.
- Business doubles the length cap to 60 minutes and brings SAML/SSO, SCORM export, LMS integrations, interactive quizzes and a shared workspace.
One detail sits in the help centre rather than on the pricing cards. The Free quota is 1 to 3 videos depending on your region, so check your own dashboard before planning around three.
HeyGen's price ladder, monthly and yearly
Prices as listed on HeyGen's pricing page on 4 October 2026, in US dollars. Pro climbs in steps to 100,000 credits for $4,300 a month. Yearly plans are billed once a year, and HeyGen publishes no separate renewal rate.
Credits per minute decide what HeyGen really costs
HeyGen's help centre, as read on 4 October 2026, lists what each feature burns. An Avatar IV video look costs 31 credits a minute, Avatar III costs 4, Avatar V costs 48 and video translation in Speed mode costs 6. On Creator's 600 credits, that's roughly 19 minutes of Avatar IV a month, or 150 of Avatar III. HeyGen says usage varies, so treat those as rough guides.
Yearly billing pays once you know your volume. Against monthly, it saves $60 a year on Creator, $100 on entry Pro and $360 on a Business first seat, and yearly credits keep accumulating until renewal instead of lapsing after one extra cycle.
Three habits help:
- Start small: upgrading mid-cycle costs only the difference, and the extra credits land at once.
- Don't pause with credits left. Pausing wipes the balance; a downgrade keeps eligible credits one more cycle.
- Size the plan to your busiest month. Creator can't buy one-time top-ups, and extra credits cost $5 per 100 where they're offered.

Pick a HeyGen plan by minutes, not features
If your videos fit in a minute and a shared link will do, there's no reason to leave Free.
Creator on yearly billing is the right buy for a solo creator making up to about 19 minutes of Avatar IV video a month. It has the 30-minute cap, 1080p and watermark removal that make a video publishable.
Pick Pro when you need 4K, translated-script editing or more than 600 credits. All Pro tiers share the same features, so you're choosing a credit amount, not a feature set.
Business suits training teams, where SCORM export, LMS integrations, quizzes and SSO earn the $149 first seat. Added seats share one credit pool rather than growing it, so budget credits for the whole team.
Skip HeyGen altogether if your videos don't need a presenter on screen; you'd be paying for avatars you won't use. Everyone else should take the 17% yearly cut on Creator, which beats waiting on a HeyGen coupon.
