Who this covers
This page applies to anyone who uses the Coupo9 website, browser extension or Android app. Coupo9 Technologies is the controller of the data described in the privacy policy. We don't apply different rules depending on where you live: if a right exists under the GDPR or the DPDP Act, you can use it here.
Data we hold
For most visitors, very little:
- No account: offer activity (reveals, clicks, votes) tied to a one-way hash of your IP address and user agent, or to a random install identifier in the extension and app.
- With an account: your email address, display name, saved stores and coupons, and any reviews you post.
- If you emailed us: that conversation.
Legal basis
- Contract: running your account, saved items and reviews when you sign up.
- Legitimate interests: counting offer activity so success rates are accurate, preventing duplicate votes and abuse, and keeping the service secure.
- Consent: anything we would add later that needs it, such as analytics cookies. You would be asked first.
We do not use your data for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you, and we do not sell it.
Your rights
- Access: get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: fix anything inaccurate or incomplete.
- Deletion: have your data erased.
- Portability: receive your account data in a machine-readable format.
- Restriction: ask us to pause using your data while a question is resolved.
- Objection: object to use based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent: at any time, for anything based on consent.
India (DPDP Act)
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you also have the right to:
- know what personal data we process and why;
- correct, complete, update or erase your data;
- nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to;
- have a grievance handled by us before going to the Data Protection Board of India.
Send grievances to hello@coupo9.comwith the subject “Grievance”.
Making a request
Email hello@coupo9.comand tell us which right you want to use. If you have an account, write from the email address on it so we can confirm it's you. For activity without an account, tell us roughly when you used the site; because we store a hash rather than your IP address, we may only be able to match records from the same network and browser.
We reply within one month, as the GDPR requires. If a request is complex we may extend that by up to two further months and will tell you why. Requests are free.
Do it yourself
- Delete your account from your account settings. This permanently removes your profile, saved items and reviews.
- Change your display name in the same place.
- Uninstall the extension or Android app to remove everything they stored on your device.
- Clear site data in your browser to remove the sign-in cookie and preferences. See the cookie policy.
Complaints
Please contact us first so we can put things right. You can also complain to your local data protection authority: in the EU, the supervisory authority in your country; in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office; in India, the Data Protection Board of India once you have raised the grievance with us.
